Coalition Building

Alton Forward is working at the community, city, and regional level to advance its mission and concepts of livability and transformational change. We believe we can do more when we are working together. We will collaborate with partners at all levels to participate in planning and organizing efforts to better serve the greater Alton community and the southern Illinois region. Exemplifying these efforts at each level are:

Community

Alton Forward will work with other civic stakeholders to help implement community-led planning efforts, identifying community needs and designing solutions for those in need of support. We intentionally bring community voices to the table alongside local non-profits, city government, and businesses in the Alton area.

City of Alton

Alton Forward will work with partners such as Southern Illinois University and other educational institutions to bring technical expertise and capacity to the Alton community. Our efforts in the Alton area are further catalyzed by outside partners, who provide additional support to projects and programs that benefit community stakeholders.

Regional

Alton Forward is part of a Regional Hubs coalition with nearby communities of Litchfield and Quincy, which share many of Alton’s characteristics and goals. We are working with this regional innovation network to build shared priorities and goals to align our efforts around the goals of transformational change and increased livability, building from the successes in each community to create a broader impact.
